Brother: Terence William ("Terry")
Godden
My big (and only) brother was born September 2nd, 1944 in
Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria, England. he now lives in Stevenage
(an hour north of London), England, with his lovely wife
Brenda (nee Lincoln). Terry has two grown children,
Steven and Claire, from his first marriage. Claire
immigrated to the U.S. several years ago, and lives with
her family a couple of hours north of Los Angeles.
Steven and his family live in Norfolk, England.
Terry
was a full-time member of Mario Andretti's traveling
race team, painting by hand the John Player Special
(English cigarette sponsor, see photo above) logos and graphics on the
cars for each race. This was in the early 1970s, before
computer manufactured stickers replaced human sign
artists. Track dust and debris at 200 mph destroyed a
car's paint, so Terry was constantly repainting the
"Special." He also had some great times hanging out with
the rest of the crew, between races.
I love Terry dearly, despite his consistent inability to
beat his younger brother at Internet chess. ("Checkmate,

Nephew: Steven Richard Godden (brother Terry's son)
Steven was born August 29, 1970 in Welwyn
Garden City, Hertfordshire, England. He lives in
Norwich, Norfolk, England, and he is a British Rail train driver.
On August 31, 1996 he married Sonia Joyce Godden (nee
Hanks), and they have three handsome sons: Thomas William Godden (born December 25,
1997), Michael Lee Godden (born July 16, 2002) and
Samuel David Godden (born April 3, 2004). The newest
Godden is a girl! Hannah Sarah Godden was born April

Niece: Claire Louise Godden (brother
Terry's daughter)
Claire was born July 15, 1974 in Welwyn Garden
City, Hertfordshire, England. The first photo below is
Claire (age 14) and I in England in 1988. The second
photo are my daughters Alison and Valeri faithfully
flanking Claire during a walk in England in 1994. Claire
now lives in Camarillo, California, USA, and is married to Iain Anderson
(a former British Marine). They have two beautiful daughters: Brynn Caileigh Anderson (born
July 23, 1999) and
Casey Gwenneth Anderson (born April 17, 2001).
    
     
     
     
Aunt: Mona Harlow nee Ditton (Dad's half-sister)
Aunt Mona was born February 4, 1918 in Rye,
England. She died recently, but the exact date/place of
her death is unknown. I occasionally lived with Mona
and her husband Stan at their Kent farm during my
parents' divorce in the mid-1960s. (See Wee-Lee
photos.) Many fond memories of staring into
bonfires at dusk, being chased by geese and riding on
tractors.
  
Second Cousin Glenda Denise Eaves
(Nee) Billington
Glenda was born April 24, 1951 in Blackburn,
Lancashire, England. She immigrated to Australia as a
young woman. Glenda has a
wonderful Billington family website at
http://www.users.bigpond.com/telglen/. She's an
excellent musical composer, and her husband is a
talented bass
player. (We constructively critique each other's musical
compositions.)
